New in 2013: The 5K and 10K will both have new courses. Certification of each course is still pending.
Starting at Hudson Gardens, the race will run through Hudson Gardens before entering the Mary Carter Greenway Trail. The 5K will start inside the Gardens, near the barn and the 10K will utilize the same start line as in the past. This new start location for the 5K will allow runners to stay on the east side of the river Mary Carter Greenway Trail all the way to Prince Street, thus easing congestion and removing the out and back section of the course used in the past. The finish of the 5K will be in the same location as in the past (in front of the gift shop). 10K runners will start in front of the gift shop and run south on Vineland before entering the Gardens and hitting the Mary Carter Greenway Trail. 10K runners will continue on the east side of the river all the way to the end before looping around a small park and then returning on the west side of the river. 10K runners will continue past Hudson Gardens to a turnaround point near the Denver Seminary before returning to Hudson Gardens and the finish line in front of the gift shop.
Aid stations will be located at mile 1.5 in the 5K and 1.5 2.5 and 4 in the 10K. They will have water and Gatorade.
Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, and animals, are not allowed in the race.
Dogs at not permitted on the grounds at Hudson Gardens and due to the out and back nature of the course, we are not allowing dogs on the course. Please leave your pooch at home. Failure to adhere to this policy will cause disqualification and may force Hudson Gardens to pull our permit for the event.
